A Better Way to Buy a Diamond
Carat Drop was created to make purchasing high-quality certified diamonds more transparent, accessible and enjoyable.
Traditional diamond retail moves a stone through several hands before it reaches a display case. Each step adds cost that has nothing to do with the diamond itself — distribution, showroom overhead, inventory financing, seasonal marketing. By the time a customer sees a price tag, much of what they are paying for is the path the stone travelled, not the stone.
Carat Drop takes a different route. We source certified laboratory-grown diamonds efficiently and sell them directly — online and live — with the grading report, specifications and price shown plainly on the same page. There is no negotiation theatre and no invented discount.
What we sell
We specialise in individually certified loose laboratory-grown diamonds. Each stone is graded by the International Gemological Institute, an independent laboratory, and is listed with its report number, measurements, proportions and finish grades. Every diamond we sell is identified clearly as laboratory-grown.
How we choose stones
A grading report describes a diamond; it does not decide whether it is beautiful. We review stones for how they actually perform — light return, proportion, the position of inclusions relative to the table, and the character of the outline — and we pass on stones that grade well but look ordinary.
Selling live
A large part of our business happens on TikTok Live, where a diamond can be shown moving under real light and questions can be answered in the moment. It is the closest thing online buying has to standing at a counter, and it is considerably more honest than a retouched product photo.
